Greensand Country Festival 2023

The annual Greensand Country Festival, returns this May and June, with local groups and organisations holding a variety of different events and activities.  Taking place across the landscape, from Leighton Buzzard to Gamlingay, the Festival is a celebration of the distinctive, beautiful and loved Greensand Country, giving you the opportunity to explore what’s on your doorstep.

The Greensand Country Festival 2023 will kick off on May Day (Monday 1st May 2023), with the final day of the festival held on Saturday 10th June 2023, marked by Runaway Adventure’s Greensand Country 50km Ultra Trail.

There will be a diverse and exciting programme of events and activities, with something to suit every age and interest. As well as events and activities about wildlife, habitats, art and local history, there will also be the chance to see what local businesses are showcasing. A wide variety of different organisations will be holding events, from Shuttleworth, the RSPB and The Greensand Trust at Rushmere Country Park to businesses such as the Willow Tree Distillery. There will also be May Day festivals and events for the Coronation weekend.

Getting out and about to enjoy the countryside has always been at the heart of the Greensand Country Festival. There will be many opportunities to explore the varied landscape of Greensand Country, from expansive historic parkland, to open heathland and ancient woodland. There will be the chance to join guided walks and explore Greensand Country by bicycle.
