We’re always looking for great organisations, groups and individuals to help look after the Greensand Country, either as volunteers or using our grant funding and training. We need landowners (including churches, schools and sports clubs) who want to restore their woodlands, heath, grassland or historic parks. We can help people to restore sandstone walls and other small structures. We’d also like to speak to people who can check sections of public footpaths, or anyone who wants to start recording the wildlife in their local area.
We can help history societies and community groups carry out archaeological surveys or research their local history. We can even help you put on plays or run community events to share your local history and local stories.
We’re also looking for volunteers to run storytelling days, lead guided walks, host art exhibitions, help us plan and run our annual Greensand Festival or just help us out in the office. If you’re a student looking to gain work experience then we can probably help you out too!
You can run your own project or join one of our existing projects as a volunteer. Many of our partner organisations are also looking for regular volunteers on lots of sites across Bedfordshire.
If you’d like to get involved then have a look through out volunteering opportunities, how to access our funding and our list of current projects. For a chat about volunteering or applying for a grant to run your own project then please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
